Nestled among the trees

Located in the historic Toodyay region, Hoddywell Cottage is a heritage listed, handmade mud-brick settlers’ cottage that offers holiday accommodation for up to six people in three bedrooms.

At the cottage, we have everything covered. Our kitchen is equipped with all you need to bring your own food and cook up a feast. As the sun begins to set, sit around the outdoor fire pit, roast marshmallows and share stories with loved ones. Or if you prefer to retreat inside, kick up your feet on our comfy couches, read a book or play board games in the large and cosy living room complete with fireplace.

If bathing in nature is up your alley, enjoy our claw-foot bath on the verandah, where you can soak and listen the birds singing. You can also try our pure clean spring water which comes directly from a natural spring on the property – it’s delicious!

Our cottage is set back from the road on 7.5 acres of natural bush, yet is only 9km from the Toodyay townsite. There's plenty to enjoy about our unique country cottage that combines history with contemporary.

Our favourite place to take the family!

There's nothing better than country life, especially getting away with our two boys who love exploring nature. We've been coming here for years, and the kids can't wait to roast marshmallows on the fire pit and climb the trees. We also love 4wd around the property at night, spotting kangaroos and enjoying what seems like our own home oasis.

Renee

Amazing place with heritage feeling and modern comfort.

Loved the green surrounding, fire pit, outdoor bath and bed. Great position to get for local trips, wild orchids trails.

Jana

Lovely comfortable stay, amazing experience staying in such a beautiful old house.

Nicky

Super comfy beds combined with the peaceful surrounds made for a great sleep.

Kate

Great little cottage.

Perfect spot to get away from it all.

Tammy

Wood burning fireplaces both inside and out were the highlight with plenty of marshmallows consumed!

A nice old cottage in a secluded location. Our family of four, including a 6 year old and 18 month old, had a great time.

Steve

Very cute cottage in the bush.

Such a great stay. So peaceful and cosy. Our favourite part was the outside bath tub with a view of the bush.

Jess

Nice solitary getaway.

Quaint dwelling, lovely scenery in winter when everything is green. The local Toodyay bakery was also very delicious.

There are lots of things to see and do in the area that will keep you entertained.

If you're keen to explore the scenic surrounds, take a hike on one of many walking trails, explore the Avon river, visit one of many local wineries or take a short drive to Noble Falls.

There's plenty to do in the town centre, or for local wildlife you can take a visit to the Emu Farm or Roos at Sue's. For a fun family outing, Duidgee Park has a playground and BBQs on the banks of the Avon River, or check out the Toodyay Miniature Railway or Hoddywell Archery Park.
